This Privacy Policy explains how Macro7 ("Macro7", "we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, and protects your personal data when you use the Macro7 mobile application (the "App"). We are committed to protecting your privacy and complying with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and applicable French data protection law.

1. Who we are

Macro7 is a meal-planning and nutrition application operated from France. For any privacy-related question, you can contact us at macro7bugs@gmail.com.

2. Data we collect

We collect only the data needed to provide the service:

• Account data: your email address and password (passwords are stored encrypted by our authentication provider and are never visible to us).
• Profile & nutrition data: the information you provide during onboarding and in settings — first name, age, sex, height, weight, activity level, dietary goal, dietary restrictions, allergies, cooking preferences, number of meals, meal times, household size, weekly budget, and disliked foods.
• Generated content: your weekly meal plans, recipes, shopping lists, favorites, and calorie/macro tracking history.
• Optional profile photo: if you choose to add one.
• Support content: messages and optional screenshots you send through "Report a bug" or "Contact support".
• Technical data: basic device and diagnostic information needed to operate the App and detect errors.

We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use it for third-party advertising.

3. How we use your data

• To generate personalized meal plans, recipes, and shopping lists tailored to your profile.
• To calculate and track your calories and macronutrients.
• To operate your account, subscription, and core App features.
• To send you essential service emails (account confirmation, password reset, welcome message).
• To respond to your support requests.
• To detect, prevent, and fix technical issues.

4. Legal basis

We process your data on the basis of: (a) the performance of our contract with you (providing the App and its features); (b) your consent, where required (for example, location or notifications); and (c) our legitimate interest in keeping the App secure and functional.

5. AI processing

To generate recipes, meal plans, and recipe images, your profile preferences (such as dietary restrictions, goals, and disliked foods) are sent to trusted third-party AI providers that process this data solely to return the generated content. This data is used only to provide the feature and is not used to identify you personally.

6. Service providers

We rely on a small number of trusted providers who process data on our behalf, under appropriate data-protection terms:

• Supabase — secure database, authentication, and file storage.
• Anthropic & Google — AI generation of recipes, plans, and images.
• Resend — transactional email delivery.
• RevenueCat & Apple — subscription management and payment processing.

Where data is transferred outside the European Economic Area, it is protected by appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses.

7. Payments

Subscriptions are processed by Apple through the App Store and managed via RevenueCat. We never receive or store your full payment card details.

8. Data retention

We keep your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, your personal data is permanently deleted. If your subscription is not renewed, your data may be permanently deleted after 30 days, as described in the App.

9. Your rights

Under the GDPR, you have the right to access, correct, delete, or export your data, to restrict or object to processing, and to withdraw consent at any time. You can edit most of your data directly in the App, delete your account from Settings, or contact us at macro7bugs@gmail.com. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the French data protection authority (CNIL).

10. Children

Macro7 is not intended for children under the age required by applicable law in your country. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated within the App or by email. The "Last updated" date above reflects the latest version.
